Players are a vibrant and creative Guild where both tutors and students have a real passion for the Visual and Performing Arts. The guild focus is about ‘Unlocking your Creativity’ through dedication and participation in tutor based and extra-curricular activities.
The Guild tutor groups have their own focused area of the specialism: Media, Art, Drama, Instrumental, Vocal and Dance. Students practise their chosen area of the specialism at least two mornings each week to develop high quality pieces of work to share and perform in assemblies.
The co-operative values of the college underpin everything we do in Players and are naturally built into the tutoring system of the Guild. Tutors closely track each of their tutees in terms of academic progress across the curriculum to ensure that students within Players succeed both academically and within their chosen specialism. There is a real sense of family and community within each tutor group and the Guild as a whole. Older students work alongside younger students to improve skills and techniques which in turn enables all students to engage and produce high quality work.
We are proud to have Young Cooperatives in the Players Guild who perform: The Big Band and Chamber Choir perform in competitions and events both locally and nationally.
Our outstanding team of tutors are passionate that tutees enjoy and achieve in their learning and work closely with tutees and parents to ensure every students ‘Lipson journey’ is a rewarding and enjoyable one.
